Chief Adept: The Officers will assume their respective positions. Fraters, assist me to form the Mystic Circle.
The Officers and all others present rise, and form the Mystic Circle, the Altar in the Center of the Hall, being the central point. The Fraters extend their arms like those of a Cross: The Right arm over and the Left arm under the arms of the Fraters next to them.
Chief Adept: Worthy Suffragan, What are the purposes of our assembling?
Suffragan: The diffusion of Light and the advancement of Science.
Chief Adept: How do we hope to accomplish the aims we have in view?
Suffragan: By prayer and perseverance in the paths of knowledge and virtue.
Chief Adept: Before we offer our supplications to Heaven, let us assure ourselves that all Fraters present are in possession of the Word.
Suffragan: Fraters, you will pass the word by syllables from the Left to the Right until it reaches the East.
The Suffragan then says to the Brother on his right "In" who responds "Ri" and then turning to his right, says; "In" end receives the reply "Ri". This Third Frater turns to his right and says "In", and so on until the word reaches the East. This direction is the course of the earth about the Sun.
Chief Adept: The Word is correct. Let us pray.

Prayer

All remain standing with head erect.
Fountain of Light and Life, and Glory of the Universe, we humbly adore Thee.
All bow the head and so remain.

Bless the union of our hearts, symbolized by our Mystic Circle, and illumine our spirits with the brightness of Thy perfection. Sanctify our desire for knowledge, and purify our thoughts. Make us worthy to commune with the Holy Ones, whom Thou hast created: and finally grant us an everlasting inheritance in the dominion made radiant by rays of Wisdom from thine unapproachable Throne.
All bow thrice saying Amen, each time: then the 4 Ancients say:

1st Ancient: I.
2nd Ancient: N.
3rd Ancient: R.
4th Ancient: I.
In the Name of I.N.R.I. I declare the Mystic Circle duly formed, and the Chain of Union complete.
The Fraters then drop their cross to their sides, and the Battery ***   **** is given with the hands.

Chief Adept: Frater Torch Bearer, attend to the Central Light. Guardian of the Caverns, inform the Acolyte. Fraters, be seated.
The Torch Bearer will see that the Rose on the Cross, mounted on a Calvary rests on a Closed Bible. The Guardian of the Caverns informs the Acolyte.

Closing

Chief Adept: Worthy Suffragan, having satisfactorily labored toward the Light, what is our reward?
Suffragan: The consciousness of having performed our duty to God, to Man, and to our Fraters of the Rosae Cross.
Chief Adept: Fraters, with Juerdon let us be content. Aid me to dissolve the Mystic Circle, and to Hermetically seal our secrets in the Chambers of our breasts.
Let the Mystic Circle be now formed.
All being now in position, each one standing in the form of a Cross as in thc Opening; the Chief Adept will say: Let us pray.

Prayer

In the light of Thy Countenance, Oh Father of Angels and of Men, we rejoice and are glad.
All bow the head and so remain.
May we leave Thy footstool with pure hearts and unclouded conscience, and may we be spared to assemble again in the Temple of Truth. Hasten, we beseech Thee, the coming of that day where Thy knowledge shall cover the Earth, and the fullness of Thy glory be revealed to all mankind.
All bow thrice saying Amen each time. Then the 4 Ancients, say, as in the Opening,
1st Ancient: I.
2nd Ancient: N.
3rd Ancient: R.
4th Ancient: I.
Chief Adept: In the Name of I.N.R.I., the Word of the Rosae Cross, I dissolve this Mystic Circle, and declare the Chain of Union imperfect until again reunited under our Laps and Ordinances, and the power of the Mystic Words.
The Fraters now drop their arms to their sides, and give the Battery ***   ****.

Chief Adept: Frater Torch Bearer, attend to the Central Light; Guardian of the Caverns, inform the Acolyte.
Fraters, this College is closed.
The Torch Bearer will remove the Cross and Rose from the Altar, The Guardian of the Caverns informs the Acolyte, and the doors are thrown open.
