Installation of Officers

Officers should be in their stations.
The Installing Officer and Honored Guests shall be escorted to a position of honor at the rostrum immediately after the meeting is called to order. The President will introduce the Installing Officer, who then takes President's station, the President stepping to the side.

Installing Officer:
By authority of the Department President I am deputized to install the officers of … Ladies Auxiliary No …, Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America.
(Where There Are No Departments:)
Installing Officer:
By Authority of the National President I am deputized to install the officers of … Ladies Auxiliary No …, Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America.
The Installing Officer must have received a Warrant authorizing her to be the Installing Officer and signed by the proper authority.
Warrant must be read before proceeding with installation ceremonies.
Installing Officer:
Madam Conductress, present the Installing Conductress at the Altar.
Conductress presents the Installing Conductress at the Altar, and Conductress returns to her station.
Installing Officer:
Madam Installing Conductress present the Retiring Officers at the Altar.
Installing Conductress starts with Secretary, marches left around room and Retiring Officers fall in at end of line as she passes their stations. Upon reaching Altar, Installing Conductress commands officers to face the Installing Officer.
Installing Conductress:
Madam Installing Officer, I present the Retiring Officers.
Installing Officer:
  Sisters, you have fulfilled the duties of your respective offices in a commendable manner, and on behalf of the members of this Auxiliary, may I express their appreciation for the services you rendered during the past year. I hope you will continue to take an active part in the work and deliberations of your auxiliary, so that it may have the benefit of your experience. You are now officially relieved of your duties.
Installing Officer:
Madam Installing Conductress, you will retire the officers, with the exception of the President whom you will bring to my Station.
Conductress marches Retiring Officers to rear of room, they take seats; she returns to Altar and escorts the Retiring President to rostrum where she is properly presented with her Past Presidents' Pin.
Installing Officer:
Madam Installing Conductress, you will retire and escort the Officers-elect to the Altar, with the exception of the President-elect.
Installing Conductress matches the Officers-elect excepting President-elect, into the room in double formation, with Sr. Vice President leading right line and Jr. Vice President leading left line, and the remaining officers arranged in like manner according to rank. When they reach the Altar, upon command of the Installing Conductress they take one step to the right or left, leaving an open lane.
Installing Officer:
Madam Installing Conductress, you will retire and escort the President-elect to the Altar.
As Installing Conductress, with President-elect, reaches the Officers- elect, she halts and says:
Officers-elect, Center face! She continues with President-elect down the lane to the Altar. Installing Conductress will give the command: Officers-elect, Front Face !
Officers-elect lower their hands and face front.
Installing Officer:
Officers-elect, you have been chosen to fill important offices in your Auxiliary. Are you willing to assume the duties of the office to which you have been chosen? 
Each Officer-elect: I am.
Installing Officer:
Do you promise to perform these to the best of your ability?
Each Officer-elect:
I do.
(3 raps).
Installing Officer advances to front of Altar.
Installing Officer:
You will raise your right hand and repeat after me the Officers' Obligation.
In the presence of the members of this organization here assembled, I do solemnly promise on my sacred honor to perform faithfully, strictly and impartially all the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter. I will, at the end of my term of office, or sooner if so ordered by proper authority, deliver to my successor, or persons authorized to receive them, all moneys, books, papers, or other paraphernalia in my possession, or under my control. I do so
promise.
I do also promise to support the Constitution and Bylaws of the National Ladies Auxiliary, Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A.
(One rap). Installing Officer returns to her station.
Installing Officer:
Madam Installing Conductress, you will escort the Officers to their respective stations as their names are called by the Secretary.
Secretary reads each name of officer, starting with Sr. Vice President, leaving President’s name last.
Each Officer as her name is called, advances to Altar at side of President, about faces and Installing Conductress escorts her to station. The newly installed officer remains standing beside the officer at the station. The Installing Officer shall then instruct the newly installed officer in her duties, as follows:
Installing Officer:
MADAM SR. VICE-PRESIDENT, it shall be your duty to assist the President in preserving order and in her absence to preside over the meetings. Familiarize yourself with the duties of her office, so that in her absence you may feel competent to take her chair.
MADAM JR. VICE PRESIDENT, it shall be your duty to assist the President and the Sr. Vice President in the discharge of their duties, and in the· absence of both, to preside over the meetings.
MADAM CORRESPONDING SECRETARY, it is your duty to attend to all matters of correspondence promptly, under the direction of the President.
MADAM RECORDING SECRETARY, the duties of your office are to keep a true record of the proceedings of the meeting, and a record of all moneys paid in or drawn out at stated meetings.
MADAM TREASURER, it shall be your duty to be custodian of all funds, securities, or vouchers belonging to the Auxiliary. You shall keep an account of each member and notify those in arrears. You shall give receipts for all monies received and shall pay out money only on warrants regularly drawn at stated meetings, signed by the President and Recording Secretary. You shall render at each meeting an itemized statement of receipts and disbursements and perform such other duties as the By-laws require.
MADAM CHAPLAIN, the duties of your office are a sacred obligation. You shall lead in prayer and perform such other duties as the Ritual directs.
MADAM PATRIOTIC INSTRUCTOR, you shall familiarize yourself with the rules of etiquette of the Flag, disseminate this knowledge and instill patriotism in the hearts of all.
MADAM HISTORIAN, it shall be your duty to keep a record of all events of interest to your Auxiliary during your term of office.
MADAM CONDUCTRESS, it shall be your duty at the opening of each meeting to see that those present are entitled to remain, and to assist at all ceremonies. You shall familiarize yourself with all our workings so that the impression made upon • the newcomer in our ranks may be a good one.
MADAM GUARD, you shall have charge of the doors and admit only those entitled to enter.
MADAM COLOR BEARERS, it shall be your duty to take care of the Colors and perform such other duties as the President directs.
MADAM MUSICIAN, it shall be your duty to be present at every meeting before it is called to order, so that you may assist the President in opening the meeting, in conducting the initiatory work and in closing the meeting, and to assist at all ceremonies.
MADAM TRUSTEE(S), it shall be your duty to audit the accounts of the Secretary and Treasurer, and perform such other duties as may be necessary.
Installing Officer:
Madam Installing Conductress, you will escort the President to my station.
Installing Officer:
Madam President, you have been elected to the highest office in your Auxiliary, and many responsibilities will rest upon you. The fact that you have been chosen by the members of the Auxiliary indicates that they have confidence in your ability and integrity, and they feel assured you will strictly and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent upon you. As President, it shall be your duty to preside at all meetings, to appoint all officers and committees not otherwise provided for, and to see that the officers perform their respective duties in a proper manner.
I now present you with this gavel, your emblem of authority. Use it firmly, but with discretion.
The success of this Auxiliary for the coming year depends in a great measure upon your wise conduct of its affairs.
Installing Officer:
Sisters of the Auxiliary, I now present to you the officers of your choice for the coming year. On behalf of the National Officers, let me extend best wishes for your success. (Or on behalf of National or Department Officers as the case may be.)
I now declare the Officers of … Ladies Auxiliary No …, Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America, duly installed for the year of … Officers will now take their seats.
The Installing Officer then thanks the Installing Conductress and Installing Staff and discharges them.
The newly installed President takes command and completes the program.
Installing Officer shall forward the Report of Installation to the National President and Department President where Department exists.
