National Order of Cowboy Rangers
This fraternal benefit
organization was incoporated in Wyoming in 1914 and paid sick, accident and
funreal benefits to its members. In addition to this, the society sought to
emulate the true characteristics of the "Great West" by exemplifying
the spirit of the men who pioneered the western United States. The society
admitted cowboys, ranchmen, businessmen, laborers, professional men and men from
all honorable walks of life. A ritual was part of the
society's organizational mekuup.
The national structure was called "Supreme Branch"and was located in
Denver, Colorado.
